TITLE: Salad Bar Clerk
BASIC PURPOSE AND FUNCTION: Provides courteous customer service. Maintains and stocks the salad bar. Ensures the cleanliness and visual appeal of the salad bar area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast, friendly, courteous customer service. Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques. Prepares and demonstrates salad bar product samples.
Prepares fresh fruits and vegetables, salads and soups for the salad bar. Stocks and rotates salad bar products to ensure quality, freshness, selection and adequate quantity to meet customer demand. Sets up and ices down the salad bar. Closes the salad bar according to company procedures. Prevents shrink.
Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of salad bar area, utensils, and backroom work area. Maintains a safe work environment.
Follows company guidelines for setting up the salad bar, displaying products and maintaining the stock, cleanliness and appeal of the salad bar. Follows proper signing procedures.
Implements correct product preparation techniques. Uses and operates related equipment such as: knives, scales, soup kettles, garbage disposal, pineapple cutting machine, and hand trucks.
Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to be friendly, courteous, tactful and maintain composure in dealing with customers and co-workers. Must possess good oral communication skills.
Ability to frequently reach, lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 50 lbs. Ability to frequently do repetitious arm movements necessary for slicing, cutting, and preparing various salad bar products. Requires manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. Ability to push and pull fully loaded hand trucks.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk and move rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Must be able to operate related equipment such as: knives, scales, soup kettles, garbage disposal, pineapple cutting machine, and hand trucks.
Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe, accurate completion of work activities. Requires knowledge of basic math, and weights and measures. Must be able to learn taste, content and perishability of products, safety and sanitation procedures, and department policies and procedures.
Hands are in frequent contact with ice, hot and cold water, and a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Exposure to heat while preparing soups and maintaining soup kettles. Exposure to approximately 28 degrees Fahrenheit while handling products in cooler. Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to utensils, equipment, and work aides necessary to perform job duties.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
